Welcome to the Jess Carpenter “Comedian” website:
Jess Carpenter is a Gay Dyslexic Colorblind “Unemployed” Art Director… his rainbow is “Special” . He took a “Stand-Up” comedy class to get over his stage fright issues and to be a better presenter during design Presentations and Sales Calls when he had a day job! He ended up getting bit by the comedy bug. That same year he won his first comedy contest and was lucky enough to open for 2 of the comedians that inspired him to go into comedy in the first place Jason Dudey and Erin Foley, and more recently opened for Alec Mapa and Ian Harvie who were also part of that early inspiration that gay during a comedy show was “OK”! I will never shove the gay thing down my audiences throat , but its there sometimes a little sometimes a lot. But its there.
“I saw them on TV and thought …Wait they are talking about things I find funny and important… I would love to do that.”
Working diligently on finding a voice that will make people laugh and teach them a little something along the way. Jess studied improv in NY and Philadelphia and was a founding member of Iron Lung Improv.
His biggest accomplishment in comedy so far is his 2 Monthly Shows titled “Comedian Deconstruction, and The Not Just Comedy Show” as well as a weekly open mic called “Stand Up under the Disco Ball”! Jess is the host and producer always making room on the show for new comedians as well as putting together the best established comedians and Improv teams to give you a unique experience every time.
You can find Jess on stage frequently in the Tristate area at various venues and fundraisers and festivals. Jess will never turn down stage time. Feel free to contact me if you feel I can be a great fit. Currently I am capable of Host through Feature Spot. You decide just how much you want to “Jess” up your show… Jess being a Gay Man had to decide a long time ago to make sure he kept his voice without shoving his sexuality down anyone’s throat… (Unless that’s what they are into)! Jess has more than enough bits to do all straight jokes as well as all gay and a mix of both.
